Hinco Gierman is a postdoctoral research fellow in developmental biology at Stanford University. His research interests include finding genes that would allow someone to live beyond 110 years of age by utilizing whole genome sequencing of the world's supercentenarians in collaboration with the Institute of Systems Biology and UCLA, finding genes that determine how skin ages by looking at the expression and eQTL analysis of skin aging in 120 women in collaboration with the Stanford department of Dermatology, and also finding DNA variations that affect the expression of genes involved in kidney aging and heart disease in collaboration with the Framingham Heart Study at Boston University.
