Lord Julian Hunt of Chesterton is a British scientist, Professor of Climate Modeling in the Department of Space & Climate Physics at University College London, former Director General and Chief Executive of the UK Meteorological Office, and a member of the House of Lords. He was awarded the L.F. Richardson medal for non-linear geophysics in 2001. Hunt is chairman of Cambridge Environmental Research Consultants and is also a Project Advisor for the Global System Dynamics and Policies Project. Hunt is known as a leading authority on turbulence modeling and had has developed new approaches to modeling turbulence, atmospheric flows around buildings and over mountains, and the dispersion of environmental pollution.
