Allen Wang, Ph.D., Postdoctoral Fellow, Department of Pediatrics, UC San Diego

Dr. Wang is a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) postdoctoral fellow currently working in the laboratory of Dr. Maike Sander in the Department of Pediatrics at UC San Diego. Wang’s research is focused on understanding the underlying mechanisms of cellular development, specifically in the context of pancreatic and beta cell differentiation. He is currently investigating the regulatory role of chromatin modifications during pancreatic differentiation of human embryonic stem cells. Wang received his B.Sc. from UCLA in 2002 and his Ph.D. from the Department of Biological Chemistry at UC Irvine in 2010.
