Sir John Gurdon, Keynote

With an Introduction by Alan Trounson


 

John Gurdon is a Distinguished Group Leader and an Emeritus Professor in the Zoology Department at Cambridge University. He is a Foreign Associate of the US National Academy of Science, a Member of European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO), and a Member of the Academie Europea. Gurdon was also a founding member of The Wellcome Trust/Cancer Research and The Gurdon Institute. His research is focused on Stem Cell research, nuclear transfer, messenger RNA expression and intercellular signaling factors.

Alan Trounson is President of the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine. Prior to joining CIRM in 2008, he was a Professor of Stem Cell Sciences and Director of the Monash Immunology and Stem Cell Laboratories at Monash University, where he retains the title of Emeritus Professor. Trounson also founded the National Biotechnology Centre of Excellence.
