Dan Batson is a Professor of Social Psychology at the University of Kansas. His research is focused on prosocial emotion, motivation and behavior including empathy and perspective taking. He is the author of many articles on the subject and the book The Altruism Question: Toward a Social-Psychological Answer in 1991.

Steve Clarke is a James Martin Research Fellow at the University of Oxford. His research is focused on the Philosophy of science, Applied Philosophy, Bioethics, Moral Psychology, and the Cognitive Science of Religion.
