Geoffrey West is a Theoretical Physicist whose primary interests have been in fundamental questions concerning elementary particles and their interactions and cosmological implications. He has served as the President of the Santa Fe Institute from 2005 to 2009. West is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and has been awarded many honors including the Mercer Award from the Ecological Society of American, the Weldon Memorial Prize in 2005 and the Oxford University and the Glenn Award for research on Aging.
